Description Karl Ove Hufthammer 2019-03-30 17:54:10 UTC
SUMMARY
Selecting text using the remote keyboard (for editing text on the Android device using the computer keyboard) *works*, but the text selection is not actually reflected in the text widget. And when one deletes selected text, the text displayed in the two text fields get out of sync.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable remote keyboard
2. Enter a text field on Android
3. Type the following text (without the quotes) on the remote keyboard in the Plasmoid: "Text editing doesn’t work"
4. Press ‘Ctrl + Left arrow’, followed by ‘Ctrl + Shift + Left arrow’. On Android, this (correctly) selects the substring "doesn’t ". But in the Plasmoid widget, the cursor is just moved to characters to the left, and no part of the text is selected.
5. Press the ‘Delete’ key, followed by ‘End’ and ‘s’.

OBSERVED RESULT
Android: The string "Text editing works"
Plasmoid: The string "Text editing doesn’t woks’

EXPECTED RESULT
Android: The string "Text editing works"
Plasmoid: The string "Text editing works"
And when editing the selection rectangle in the Plasmoid should reflect the selection rectangle on Android.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20190327

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with KDE Connect 25.12.2.
