SUMMARY

It used to work, but doesn't anymore. Sorry if that's intentional.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to apply transform tool to a Group Layer with some paint layers in it.

OBSERVED RESULT
Krita says "Unable to transform the layer".

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Doesn't work on both cases when Recursive Transform is on/off.

I cannot reproduce this on 22336d99407a39efccff19e9ca57fcb5b2dce80b can reproduce in 9429230.

Might be a result of 630ce8583cb5a9337aceb2ca96f17c2cf1df306e

Scott was looking into this due a different patch he wanted to push so I'll assign him. Otherwise, it ought to go to Agata or Dmitry.

This was a recent bug that was introduced a week ago. The bug affects more than just group layers.

I am working on a patch to fix this...as well as add some functionality to the transform tool. The work is being done here...

This is fixed. Group layers should allow you to transform again if you check the next nightly build...or wait for Krita 4.2 to come out.
