SUMMARY When trying to copy/move/link an image from Gwenview, the 'Name' field in the file dialog, which by default get set to the current file name of the image, will be blanked out if I try to change directory. This only happens if the initial directory does not contain that file to start with, but this is a pretty common case since Gwenview conveniently remembers the last place you copied an image to. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Navigate to a folder with an image 2. Hit F7 to copy that image, select another directory than the current one. 3. Now try to copy again that image (or another image from the current folder), the default name is set to the current image and the default directory to the directory selected in step 2. 4. Try to switch to another directory OBSERVED RESULT The 'Name' field in the dialog box is reset. The file name has to by typed entirely again. EXPECTED RESULT The 'Name' field is unmodified when switching directories. This is maybe be a Qt bug.
Thank you for your report! I was able to confirm this issue as well but I believe it's an upstream issue. I've used different applications that use the same "Save File" dialog and the issue is still present in those applications.
I can't reproduce with gwenview 19.04. After the step 4, the file name is unselected, not cleared. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3
I can still see this bug happening, it's even easier to reproduce: STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Navigate to a folder with an image 2.
