STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Choose "Select by Area" followed by "Take new screenshot" 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Very funky looking screen - see attachment #1 [details] GUI is now unresponsive - it's necessary to switch to a VT and reboot! Spectacle also seems to be spamming the log files when this happens - see attachment #2 [details] EXPECTED RESULT A successful screenshot of the selected area. Disn't realize when I typed "Attachment #1 [details]" bugzilla referenced attachments.
Yep, I know the issue. Thankfully, it was fixed by the Rectangular Region rewrite in 19.04!
