Created attachment 119069 [details] screenshot with the popup SUMMARY Under Plasma or LxQt+kwin all firefox extension installation popups/dialogs do nothing when clicked. The problem does not appear under Gnome or LxQt+compiz. It applies to firefox developer edition as well. See the attachment. When mouse-over the popup, it slightly changes button colours. When clicked it further darkens the button. But nothing happens. I tried disabling various effects, but it did not help. Drivers: nvidia 418.56 XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 kwin version 5.15.3 Qt Version: 5.13.0beta1 19.03.80 5.56.0
Firefox version 67b4 Tried firefox 52 esr, but the mechanism of adding extensions is different and it does work.
Does not matter if compositor is opengl 3.1 or xrender
Can you reproduce this bug with the stable edition of Firefox (66)?
I personally can't reproduce this bug with Firefox Nightly. Given > When mouse-over the popup, it slightly changes button colours. When clicked it > further darkens the button. But nothing happens. It would be great to file a bug report against Firefox instead. When mouse-over the popup, it slightly changes button colours. When clicked it further darkens the button. But nothing happens.
argh, wrong copy-paste... https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/home
(In reply to Vlad Zagorodniy from comment #3) > Can you reproduce this bug with the stable edition of Firefox (66)? Yes. It is still there 66.0.1 64bit. It has been for a while already and I only decided to report it now. Now I tried something else, use the keyboard: navigate over the popup by pressing tab and press space to confirm -- it works.
Please file a bug report upstream.
I figured out thanks to help in Arch Linux forum: It depends on window focus settings in kwin. I had focusPolicy = 3, when the firefox dialog was unclickable. The problem disappears when focusPolicy <= 2, i.e. anything else than focus strictly under mouse. PS. Some semantics: in focus settings it says "focus under mouse". Mouse it a physical device, and is not even used by most laptop users. Focus is under _cursor_, a graphical entity.
