STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open dolphin
2. hover over a font file
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
as we can see in my screenshot, the font preview looks badly rendered,
it's barely visible.

EXPECTED RESULT
font preview is rendered correctly in the tooltip

Operating System: KDE neon Developer Edition

Have yet to investigate, but I guess the font preview is not rendered by dolphin, but by the font thumbnailer.

Is the issue only with Wayland?

With both X11 and Wayland sessions.

This bug only occurs when I use breeze look and feel theme.
Font preview looks good with breeze dark.

This issue persists even if breeze dark global theme is used, but not all fonts are affected.
For example Dolphin correctly shows the preview of NotoSans-BlackItalic.ttf located on /usr/share/fonts/noto/ with both breeze and breeze dark global themes.
However preview of NotoSans-Black.ttf fails with both breeze and breeze dark.

I can't reproduce with Breeze global theme.
But preview rendered in black when Breeze Dark global theme is used does not look good.

1. use Breeze Dark global theme
2. open fonts:/System/ with Dolphin . Or go to /usr/share/fonts/ and open a subfolder with font files.
3. make sure "Show tooltips" option is enabled in "General" section of Dolphin settings
4. hover over fonts

Result: font preview in dark on dark color in the tooltip and in the files view, as we can see in the screenshot attached to this comment.
