SUMMARY
Sometimes Gwenview shows the notification that we can see in my screenshot.
I don't understand which criteria Gwenview uses to show or not this notification,
it appears randomly when I open a file located in a Samba share.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use Gwenview to open, via Dolphin, a file located in a Samba share

OBSERVED RESULT
sometimes a notification appears. See the attached screenshot.

EXPECTED RESULT
notification never appears

This notificaion appears because Gwenview downloads the file from samba share
before opening it. I think that with current kio samba support such behavior is no longer necessary.

Never mind. Dolphin downloads a copy of image on mouseover when Information Panel is enabled. Currently the notification is a bit different but it is still appearing inconsistently.

With https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kio/-/merge_requests/647 the finished notification no longer sticks around. 

There is however still a temporary popup/progress indicator, which makes sense given it is a potentially long-running network operation
