After page load (the page shows up for a split second) the error “Failed loading page” shows up (see attached screenshot) The same pages work with konqueror fwiw SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Gentoo linux, qtwebengine 5.12.2, falkon git (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56 Qt Version: 5.12.2
console output shows a crash in QtWebEngine; I am currently rebuilding on debug to obtain a meaningful stacktrace
You would need to rebuild QtWebEngine in debug which might not be that easy. In any case, this should be reported to QtWebEngine upstream.
(In reply to David Rosca from comment #2) The debug build of QtWebEngine is still running (yes it takes *forever*) > In any case, this should be reported to QtWebEngine upstream. Konqueror with QtWebEngine does not show the same issue; I can try qutebrowser, but I need to recompile it, too. Will keep you posted
> I can try qutebrowser, but I need to recompile it, too. Will keep you posted qutebrowser also does not crash. Waiting to qtwebengine to finish building to post a complete stacktrace
I finally managed to compile a debug build of WebEngine. Naturally now falkon does not crash anymore :/ Any suggestions?
Well, I am experiencing this issue as well. Some pages show up but almost immediately show "Failed loading page" instead. Not really usable in this state. Application version 3.1.0 QtWebEngine version 5.12.4 ➜ xfce4-about -V xfce4-about 4.13.5 (Xfce 4.13) ➜ uname -r 4.19.56-1-MANJARO ➜ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Manjaro Linux" ID=manjaro ID_LIKE=arch PRETTY_NAME="Manjaro Linux" ANSI_COLOR="1;32" HOME_URL="https://www.manjaro.org/" SUPPORT_URL="https://www.manjaro.org/" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.manjaro.org/"
This seem to be fixed now in: Application version 3.1.0 QtWebEngine version 5.13.0
