The culprit seems to be the Rotoscope effect of the SECOND part of the clip. The first part plays fine. Enabling rotoscope on the second part makes it crash...
Sorry for the comment flooding. The exact version number is 18.12.1b, but I just tested the 18.08.03 and the daily 19.04 beta AppImage and it crashes there too.
Thank you for reporting. With the AppImage #119 and placeholder of the video it doesn’t crash. With the 23.3.19 Windows build loading the file it crashed, but I cannot make a backtrace.
For me it also crashes when I drag the bottom-most rotoscope mask points out of the bottom of the screen. Maybe that is a similar error...
I opened issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/122. Could you re-arrange the project with a short part of MAX HEADROOM COMPILATION.MP4 (<4MB) that we can reproduce the issue and upload here the file MAX HEADROOM COMPILATION.MP4 (<4MB).

Uploaded the video file. Using this instead of the full file the crash is still happening for me. It's as simple as dragging on the timeline (uppermost part) to skip through the video and hitting the second part of the clip.
I think it's solved. Please try with the Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/
Seems to work for me now. Thanks!
