SUMMARY Dolphin shows the error "Could not enter folder /" when opening a device with a slash in the device name. I discovered this in the course of testing this in another product entirely. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In an Android or iOS devices' settings, create a name such as "My/Phone". 2. Connect the device to the system via USB and when prompted by KDE, click Open with File Manager. 3. This opens Dolphin with a URI of mtp:/My/Phone/ OBSERVED RESULT Error message: Could not enter folder / Dolphin URI: mtp:/My/Phone/ EXPECTED RESULT View the contents of the device's filesystem. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 Qt Version: 5.11.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm not sure how to score this severity-wise, since I can't actually access the files on the device because of this bug.
That kind of makes sense since / is an illegal character in filenames. How did that disk even get that name in the first place?
