A simple tool that is a line divided into equal parts. The number of segments probably should be selected in the panel. This tool is needed for dividing... Dividing in perspective in my case. To divide something we need to draw a divided line. And it’s not very much to do by sight.
Do you want it to be an assistant (aka it leads the brush in some way (how? just along the line, does the leading differ from the Ruler assistant?)), or something else (guide, for example - so it only shows the divisions, but doesn't lead the brush)? I think it would be good to just add divisions (as a visual indications, nothing more) to the Ruler assistant (not Infinite and not Parallel Rulers, just the Ruler one, the finite one). One will be able to define the number of divisions before making a Ruler (in Tool Options if the Ruler option is selected), or afterwards when selected the ruler. Unless you mean something else (since you say something about perspective?), then you need to elaborate.
(In reply to Tymond from comment #1) When I saw the subject of the letter, I thought it would be better to do this in a ruler. Why didn’t I think of this last year ... Again. Anyway, yes it does. The solution with the division on a ruler assistant is completely right. About the perspective, I meant its construction. I could use the division ruler in the composition. Could you also add the “golden section” checkbox, where there would be only one point by ratio?
Golden rule etc. could be great as guides, actually, since it doesn't make sense for them to lead the brush. (David Revoy in his design for perspective tools did mention "baking" the assistant into a new layer though: https://www.davidrevoy.com/article159/design-ideas-for-a-new-krita-perspective-tool , maybe it would be a good idea to do this for guides and assistants as well. That, and the golden rule + thirds stuff, would be different feature requests though...)
(In reply to Tymond from comment #3) This is not for lead lines. This is for measurements. For example, in architecture. You can add divisions and proportions to the measure tool, but it does not remain when you switch to the brush. Then his work will have to change... Better in the assistant, there are more settings. Just divisions on the ruler assistant.
I'm not talking about the measure tool, but something akin to guides and grids. See this: https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/dockers/grids_and_guides.html For the original idea (divided line), I still think it would be good to add it to the assistant, of course.
Some of the ideas here could even be implemented just in vector libraries templates like here: https://krita-artists.org/t/vector-library-drawing-templates/6686
(In reply to Tymond from comment #6) > Some of the ideas here could even be implemented just in vector libraries Yes. So it can be done. You can come up with a lot of ideas to replace the missing features. But this should not go on forever. I'm not a fan of downloading a bunch of plugins and blanks. However, I have to make them. I want this to work out of the box. I want new users to immediately be able to use various chips, and not search the forums.
