SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Import a movie clip for source media into Kdenlive 2. Select the movie clip from within the project bin 3. Optional: Set in/out point of the clip using the clip monitor 4. Drag the clip monitor and drop the media on the timeline OBSERVED RESULT Mouse pointer gets changed to a move symbol. Further editing gets very hard with fixed mouse pointer because mouse pointer does not indicate that the position is correct for trim/fade/transition any more. The only way to overcome this situation so far is that to click status bar once, then mouse cursor gets unfixed. EXPECTED RESULT Mouse pointer should never affected by drag'n'drop action. To test: - open a new project. - Hit CTR+SHIFT+, (comma) and tick under Misc “Check if first added clip matches project profile”. - Insert your video again. - Now the project gets adjusted to the video you have. If you have still the crash: - View -> make sure “clip properties” is hit. Please post a screenshot here of the properties of the clip which causes he crash.
Created attachment 118788 [details] Reproduce demo movie clip I added a movie clip for demo. Please notice the mouse pointer in the movie especially just after the dragged clip dropped on the timeline.

Thanks for the reply, but this is not about a crash. Any video clip (even generated within Kdenlive) can always have this symptom. Please refer to the attached screenshot(a video actually).
I have noticed that this issue has been resolved in 19.04.x version.
