SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to settings and set cursor shape to show no cursor.
2. Draw or paint something; cursor isn't shown; just the outline or whatever other option is set under outline shape.
3. Move the cursor outside of the canvas area and select something else like a layer.
4. Move the cursor back to the canvas.

OBSERVED RESULT

The cursor is displayed along with the outline shape.

EXPECTED RESULT

The cursor continues not to be displayed; only the outline shape.

Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch, kernel 5.0.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Only occurs in 4.1.8, doesn't happen in 4.1.7.

I can confirm this but for me it only happens when using my wacom tablets Stylus. As soon as I move the mouse, while on the canvas, the courser switches back to whatever I set in the configurations.

Please check again with the latest daily build appimage. I suspect that this is the Qt 5.12 mouse/tablet handling bug again. The latest appimage has patches for that, your distribution builds don't.
