Description PK 2019-03-11 16:46:11 UTC
SUMMARY
I can find no way to insert space-plasmoids between elements in Latte-dock. With previous versions there was in the Latte-settings-panel a way to insert those and create distance between the elements that were present on the Latte-Dock. In the git (master) version I can't find that option anymore.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. try to insert distance-holder-widgets
2. I can't find them no more
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
I can't find this option in the git (master) version of Latte-Dock

EXPECTED RESULT
After some searching I would find the option to insert this widget and insert it

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Buster testing
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Qt Version: 5.11.3

All applets will be removed from Latte codepage and all will be available through kde store.

1. Install Latte spacer from plasma widgets explorer
2. Drag n' drop the Latte spacer from Widgets Explorer onto Latte

Thanks...

I had a thought about that. Perhaps it would be wise to pack the applets together with latte-dock. So that after you install latte-dock you can immediately drag the applets from the plasma widget explorer.
When you don't have latte-dock you don't have use for the latte applets and when you have latte-dock there is a good chance that you need them. Perhaps it would be asking much of the user to send them to the kde-store. Especially when you download a latte-dock layout from the store it seems complicated to also have to install the latte-applets from there.
Hope you don't mind.

that is a decision that I thought it a lot and is more convenient for many reasons.

1. Updating applets does not need to update Latte also
2. It is much easier to track issues etc.
3. The users in the end they should learn how to install applets from kde store and Widgets Explorer
4. Downloads from kde store give me some free beers in a month
5. The user does not have to install Latte in order to use Latte applets with plasma panels

> When you don't have latte-dock you don't have use for the latte applets

that is not true. All Latte applets can be used also with plasma panels.
