SUMMARY The crop function has some issues. Works in unexpected ways. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. import a scene, and apply "crop" effect, and "position and zoom" effect, and then put the scene in an upper video level, so that it will appear as "overlayed" to the main scene. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT When I move this little scene in the display, as you can see in the video attached, it doesn't remain with a constant shape. When I move it lower, or upper, a portion of the scene disappears. Not only that, if I apply a transition, during the transition there is gonna be a shape, and when transition finishes there is another shape. Both problems showed in the video attached. EXPECTED RESULT I expected the shape to remain constant, I should be free to position this scene everywhere I want. And the transition shouldn't affect the position and the shape of it. Thanks for reporting. I have similar issues. What size does the inserted video have? What are the project settings? Your video is a bit small I can’t read the effect names. But delete the crop effect and try with the effect “Position & zoom” only.
Hi, The project is HD1080p (1929x1080) 25fps. Regarding the videos inserted, there are two main videos of me playing: one is 1920x1080, the other is is 4k (3840x2160). The videos of the videogame I'm trying to crop and overlap on the main scene are some in 1920x1080 and some other in 1920X1036, but the problems happen with both of them. Effect names are in italian (crop is "ritaglia bordo" and position and zoom becomes "posizione e ingrandimento"). If I deactivate the crop, the problems doesn't happen. (But I really need to crop :( ). Hope it helps, let me know. Thanks.
Thank you for the details. As a work around: Crop the video as you need. Render it out. Insert it in Kdenlive in a manner that you only need position and zoom. Problems with effect and different video sizes then the project video size are known. Problems with staggering effects as well.
Ok, I tried something similar, but in this case I can only have "windows" in 4:3 or 16:9. But I'll do anyway. So next time I better insert all videos of the same size? (for example the big one I reduce to 1080p before inserting, right?)
All effects are updated in version 20.12. Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.12.2 https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/linux/
