I almost never need to save screenshots to a folder. Rather, usually, I simply copy it to paste it later. Because of this, I am hesitant to use the inbuilt shortcuts (i.e. meta+print, shift+print, meta+shift+print) because it makes me uncomfortable to unnecessarily clutter the Screenshots folder. Instead, I always opt for configuring and screenshotting from the Spectacle window, and copying it from the 'Copy to clipboard' button.

An option to by default save screenshots to the clipboard, instead of to the default folder, would make screenshots (a feature I use several times a day) much smoother for me, and, I believe, many other users.
