Stupidly enough, if I click to report the error I get a message that I can not, as there is not bug reporting address, so the error can never be known or fixed! WTF? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin with previews enabled 2. crash happens, everytime 3. We are sorry, kdeinit5 closed unexpectedly. You cannot report this error, because kdeinit5 does not provide a bug reporting address. OBSERVED RESULT Executable: kdeinit5 PID: 10908 Signal: Segmentation fault (11) Time: 2019-02-28 10:56:29 EXPECTED RESULT No crash of kdeinit5 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Fedora Linux 28, up to date KDE Frameworks 5.54.0 Qt 5.11.3 (built against 5.11.3) The xcb windowing system dolphin 18.08.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This has been like this now for a long time, even after multiple updates.
This might be fixed with 18.12.3 (released next week). If you find the video file which causes the crash, I suggest to provide a link to it so that a developer can verify.

Could you please test again with ffmpegthumbs from KDE Applications 18.12.3?
It looks like nobody have built any newer packages for my distribution yet, and it even looks like Fedora 29 is not yet provided with 18.12.3 so I would love to test, but will have to wait for those new packages.
Feel free to grab newer package from http://koji.rpmfusion.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=10645 to test. (though it should be showing up in updates-testing soon)
