SUMMARY In KDE Apps 18.12.0 if "Cursor shape" set to "Underline", cursor always freeze on fist charter. "Block" and "|-Beam" work fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Settings --> Edit current profile --> Advanced 2. To set "Blinking cursor", "Underline", "Set cursor color to match current charter", OK. 3. Type a few characters, then delete them. OBSERVED RESULT The cursor freezes on the first character and no longer moves. EXPECTED RESULT The cursor must always follow the current character. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE4 KDE Plasma Version: 4.14.38 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 KDE Applications Version: 18.12.2 Qt Version: 5.12.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Don't pay attention to that. that i use KDE4. This is a problem with KDE Applications 18.12.x.
I don't see exactly what you are seeing on master. There's something wrong here - I see old cursors that don't get erased when cursor is moved. It appears that the "first" cursor is 1 pixel lower and thus doesn't get erased.
I use the font "Andale Mono" (11.0) if that matters. And my cursor does not move or is not displayed, only the cursor freezes, does not blink, on the first character.
And my background black (#000000), text color green (#00cc00).
I understood, here, perhaps, kwin, as it affects. If I type text in the konsole or move the cursor, the display of the current cursor does not move. But if I move the konsole window or the konsole window loses focus, the cursor moves to its place and freezes again until the window loses focus or moves.
Another duplicate of bug#402589 IMHO. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 402589 ***
I agree - this is a duplicate, but the status is closed, not resolved.
(In reply to Илья Индиго from comment #6) > I agree - this is a duplicate, but the status is closed, not resolved. It's not possible to set it to CLOSED DUPLICATE directly. Setting it to RESOLVED DUPLICATE is the usual action here. But whatever.
Thank you. I understand.
