SUMMARY The plasma lockscreen does not display 2FA messages when used on Wayland. Messages such as "please touch the device" do not appear, much like in SDDM. STEPS TO REPRODUCE ** This requires you own a 2FA device, such as a yubikey ** 1. Start a wayland session 2. Lock screen 3. Unlock screen OBSERVED RESULT No messages are displayed EXPECTED RESULT A message saying "please touch the device." Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? Like Plasma 5.25, or ideally 5.26? I ask because Plasma 5.25 ushered in a lot of PAM changes that might have fixed this. Can you check? Thank you! Hi Nate! Thanks for getting back to me. I have since stopped using 2FA on my machines. Since no one else has chimed in to talk about this issue, I guess this can be closed. I think it's mostly related to the screen locker displaying messages coming from PAM.
