Can you post a screenshot? I run Konsole with a dark color scheme and the inline scrollbar looks fine to me.
Created attachment 118306 [details] Screenshot of konsole with black scrollbar
Just to be clear, this system is a linuxfromscratch build. I did try to look at the konsole source and can hard code a change to the scrollbar, but I can't figure out how to change the color of the 'thumb/slider' I can change the outline of the thumb, but it is only one pixel wide and very faint. Could this be a qt-5.12.1 issue?
What widget theme are you using? Looks like it's not Breeze.
My window manager is xfce. I have tried many different themes including Adwaita, Clearlooks, High Contrast, Mist, Redmond, Xfce, etc. None changed the scrollbar appearance in any way.
I've made a little progress. I brought up plasma and the konsole scrollbar visibility is fine there. If I go to another system and log in via ssh on an xfce based system, the scrollbar is as as I described earlier. This is different from earlier behavior. I went back and checked and the versions that were OK were konsole-17.12.0; kf5-5.41; qt-5.10.0. Do you support konsole in a non-plasma desktop environment?

Yes, though not as well as we should, clearly. :) Marking as a duplicate of Bug 393423, since the issue is already being tracked there. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 393423 ***
