The gnome dash to dock extension has a setting to require pressure sensitivity to bring up the dock from hidden state. This helps against accidentally bringing up the dock when it's positioned on the left of the screen. The problem is that applications have many controls that also positioned along the left edge, so that when you try to hit an application button in that area it's very easy to bring up the dock by accident.
this has been requested many times my opinion for the matter is very strict: 1. Someone must support this in KWin and Latte will afterwards support it 2. If there is someone that wants to add it in Latte no problem but he is going to maintain it afterwards (if this could also wayland compatible, even better) 3. Personally I am not interested at all
For reference, in plank this is supported with XInput 2.3, Barriers functionality
and one more notice, as it appears alternative docks are also hiding/removing such support
