Description ChrisL 2019-02-18 13:07:11 UTC
SUMMARY

Repeat Keys is always On, a single key press held down will turbo press. When repeating keys is set Off. Not usual behavior it appears settings is ignored.

Also tried
Deleting config ~/.config/kcminputrc then rebooting. Not fixed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. System Settings -> Input Devices -> Keyboard
2. Keyboard Repeat Turn Off
3. Apply

OBSERVED RESULT

xev shows key-releases when a key is held down.
Deleting text with backspace deletes too quickly. Very annoying for text editing.

EXPECTED RESULT

Setting to work as intended, 1 hold key press to register as a single press event until released.
