Description tguen 2019-02-12 05:04:58 UTC
SUMMARY
On login, ~/.config/gtkrc-2.0 is overwritten with:

    # created by KDE Plasma, Mon Feb 11 20:50:57 2019
    #
    # If you do not want Plasma to override your GTK settings, select
    # Colors in the System Settings and disable the checkbox
    # "Apply colors to non-Qt applications"
    #
    #

    gtk-alternative-button-order = 1

I have disabled the checkbox but it continues overwriting the file anyway. bug#325736 seems to be related. Text comes from here:

https://github.com/KDE/plasma-desktop/blob/ccc6e24f9aab3da40f0ff2ba7b505022b485ed0e/kcms/krdb/krdb.cpp#L269

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. change contents of ~/.config/gtkrc-2.0
2. log out & log in
3. open file and note changed contents

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Arch Linux
Plasma: 5.14.5
Frameworks: 5.54.0
Qt: 5.12.1

Possibly related: it also creates an empty file at ~/.gtkrc-2.0 on login.

Essentially the same issue and root cause as Bug 421240; let's track the solution there.
