The "Recent Files" section in Dolphin's Places panel displays nothing. I can open the four timelines "today", "yesterday", "this month" and "last month" but it is as if there had been no activity on the computer, while obviously I constantly create, save and edit files of all kinds. I use KDE on Kubuntu 18.04.1 LTS with Dolphin 17.12.23
There's a good chance this is already fixed in a more recent version of KDE Frameworks. If you're feeling brave, you can upgrade using the Kubuntu Backports PPA like so: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade More detailed information and instructions are here: https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ubuntu/backports Are you willing to give that a try and see if it fixes your issue?
> I constantly create, save and edit files of all kinds. Please check if they appear in ~/.local/share/RecentDocuments/
I have some files in that folder, they also appear in the K menu > Recent documents (the full screen menu opened with Alt+F1 or Meta key).
If you navigate to timeline:/calendar/ using Dolphin's URL navigator, do you see a red error message that says "The file or folder timeline:/calendar/ does not exist."? Or does it display folders? And do any of those folders have items in them?
Opening timeline:/calendar/ in Dolphin provokes no error, but displays an empty folder.
How strange. Moving to Baloo, which is where this comes from. BTW can you try upgrading using the Kubuntu backports PPA? It's possible that this was already fixed in a newer version. https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ubuntu/backports
