Created attachment 117829 [details] screenshot SUMMARY I created LiveDVD image based on openSUSE Leap 15.0 with openSUSE KIWI. In Dolphin, "Devices" section is missing in "Places" panel. OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin has Devices section in Places panel, here I see DVD disk (LiveDVD) from which I started operating system. EXPECTED RESULT Dolphin always show Devices section in Places panel SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Leap 15.0 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.45.0 Qt Version: Qt 5.9.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If I start Dolphin via Konsole, I see: > dolphin inotify_add_watch("/etc/fstab") failed: "No such file or directory" Failed enumerating UDisks2 objects: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" "The name org.freedesktop.UDisks2 was not provided by any .service files" <...> qt.accessibility.core: Cannot create accessible child interface for object: PlacesView(0x562afb222e80) index: 4 Failed enumerating UDisks2 objects: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" "The name org.freedesktop.UDisks2 was not provided by any .service files" <...> org.kde.dolphin: slotUrlSelectionRequested: QUrl("file:///home") Indeed, /etc/fstab is missing, but even if I create it as empty file, Dolphin still doesn't show Devices section.
Created attachment 117830 [details] openSUSE Tumbleweed show Devices section even without /etc/fstab Note: /etc/fstab seems not to be necessary in other system, generated with KIWI: https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-KDE-Live-i686-Snapshot20190126-Media.iso I can not reproduce openSUSE Tumbleweed anyway. Dolphin 18.12.1 KDE Frameworks 5.54.0 Qt 5.12.0
Fixed by installing udisks2 in openSUSE Leap 15.0
