That make it consistent with Plasma panel's behavior. And that was the previous behavior of Latte too, some users have been familiar with it.
I think that for Latte panels this is valid but for Latte docks I am not convinced

The default options try to follow a user paradigm from all the current docks available such as plank, cairo dock etc. etc. that option is not enabled in any of them

They're are not specially designed for KDE. In XFCE there is not PreviewWindow too. Latte should follow Plasma instead of them.

Even more that wayland does not support preview windows. Preview windows with parabolic effect at the same time in my opinion have a strange effect for the user. Having them as an option for docks and default for panels is ok for me
