Description Ville Aakko 2019-01-28 19:26:08 UTC
Sometimes KDE connect (the Android application) does not find the media player anymore or some custom commands I've set up (both seem to disappear at the same time if they appear; it is never one missing while the other works). These entries are just empty on the Android application (or; "no custom commands" or "no media player detected" or something is displayed; don't remember exactly what is displayed in the UI).

Other functionality is still there; seems notifications get through, I can "ping!" either way, use as a remote (mouse/touchscreen) etc.

Seems like some kind of synchronization issue (the android app forgets the media player and commands). Force closing the android applications populates the features again - but this is annoying and needs to be done very now and then.

Choosing component as "common" since I am not sure which end is causing this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pair KDE connect with an Android phone as intented
2. Create custom commands on the computter and/or set up a media player
3. Use KDE connect for a while (hours/days) (not sure how to trigger)

OBSERVED RESULT

Sometimes media player control and custom command just disappear from the android app.

EXPECTED RESULT

Media player controls and custom commands should not disappear.

In case these bugs / problems can not be eliminated, there should be an easy way to refresh the android application. One workaround is to force-close the application via Android OS system.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
Qt Version: 5.12.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Kernel: 4.20.4-zen1-1-zen

Just after adding this report, I got behaviour where the media player is not found while the custom commands are found, and moreover: restarting the android application does not recover the media controls (as it often does).
