SUMMARY Notifications show up in the middle of the screen after connecting and disconnecting from an external display. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect the device to an external display of a different resolution. (not sure if the same resolution will also have this issue, couldn't test) 2. Set external display to extend desktop 3. Disconnect external display 4. Receive a notification OBSERVED RESULT Notification shows up towards the center of the screen instead of in the bottom left. I messed with the notification settings that let you change which corner of the screen the notifications show up in and it looks like it isn't resetting the desktop size after the external display gets disconnected. EXPECTED RESULT Notification should go back to the bottom left. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 18.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I got this on Arch Linux along with many other problems. Like the bottom panel randomly changed size, notifications in the center of the screen, discord's icon is blured for no reason, in display settings the left and right monitors are so far apart xrandr has to be used and the displays startup in the wrong order, the bottom panel resizes itself to fit the entire bottom on startup when I dont even have it configured that way, and the app dashboard shows on the wrong display when you reconfigure displays too.
A lot has changed since this bug was filed. Is it still reproducible for you in Plasma 5.24 (the latest LTS version) or 5.25 (the latest version, period)?
