SUMMARY Can not tick the "lvfs" source in settings STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open settings 2. Attempt to add lvfs 3. Also: purge plasma-discover (apt purge) to reset settings, and reinstall. THis doesn't work. OBSERVED RESULT The check box is not selectable. Update: snap install fwupd --classic updates the fwupd stack. The problem goes away. The bug occurs with package version: 1.0.9-0ubuntu2 which is currently the version in Bionic repositories.
What distro are you using? Seems like a packaging issue if installing the fwupd backend didn't pull in the necessary fwupd libraries.
