SUMMARY i just installed Amarok on Kubuntu 18.04. there is local NAS drive that contains music files. When i play tracks, Current Track in the middle context pane is not showing anything. Most of the area is white except for a thin vertical bar which i'm assuming is the window. even after i stop playing, Recently Played is not showing at all. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. install on Kubuntu 2. play from local location, 3. OBSERVED RESULT it looks to me like the window is sized wrong or something because it just looks strange. i tried removing all other applets but the behavior is the same. EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: MacOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I can only presume that you have something missing in the dependencies, it displays correctly for me. Maybe a forced reinstall helps, else you should report it to Kubuntu
thank you for the quick response. i did the reinstall but it did not help. here's the output, perhaps you can detect what is missing. especially those 2 lines about 'unknown media types'? sudo apt-get install --reinstall amarok Reading package lists... Amarok, except for this, looks and plays just great!

As for the unknown media types I have no idea what this refers to, it is most likely not Amarok related anyway, as these are MIME types we have no control over.
Clementine works!
