SUMMARY I make rendering of project with default preferences of "MPEG-2" profile from "Generic" group. It going very very slow and all the time loads my CPU at 100% (CPU = DualCore, 3 GHz on each, RAM = 4 GB). "estimated time" is constantly growing while the progress has not reached 50% and only then start to decrease. At the same time, the estimated time was determined completely incorrectly - if believe him, everything had to end in 3 hours. In fact, the rendering after progress at 50% took about 7 hours. Whole rendering - about 12 hours. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KXStudio 14.04.5 KDE Plasma Version: 4.13.3 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION kdenlive - appimage version MediaInfo of output file: Format : MPEG-PS File size : 1.74 GiB Duration : 29mn 13s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 8 539 Kbps Video ID : 224 (0xE0) Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 1 Format settings, BVOP : Yes Format settings, Matrix : Default Format settings, GOP : Variable Duration : 29mn 13s Bit rate mode : Variable Width : 854 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 29.970 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Compression mode : Lossy Time code of first frame : 00:00:00:00 Time code source : Group of pictures header Audio ID : 192 (0xC0) Format : MPEG Audio Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : -10ms
And there is no sound in the output video.
Could you make a test with a shorter Video? On the render window click on “more option” an make sure that on the fly-out right side no option are clicked. Make number of Threads number of your CPU-Cores -1. Are these settings your project settings: Width : 854 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 29.970 fps
Hello, can you please test if this is still happening using the latest appimage? It seems to be a packaging issue.
(In reply to farid from comment #3) I tried it. The problem began to look different: now there is no video track in the exported file.

Which version are you using? Is it the AppImage? Send a screenshot of your timeline please. Are you still on the same system and hardware?

(In reply to farid from comment #5) Especially to take this screenshot, I made a test project from scratch and suddenly everything worked! The video was rendered in MPEG-2 format in adequate time and the video track was in place. I repeated this experiment again - and again successfully. Last Appimage (20.12.2) As you asked. Hardware changed. OS changed to Ubuntu 19.10 x64
Thank you for the feedback and contribution. Glad to hear it works.
