SUMMARY It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes. The clip also has the effect "Speed" = 81% and "Fade in". Tried to restart kdenlive but it did not help. I tried to add "Fade from Black" for the second time - it worked and was removed, but the "Fade from Black", which "stuck" still could not be removed. But after some time it passed and I was able to remove it. This has happened repeatedly but not very often. It seems with other effects but can't remember exactly. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux KXStudio 14.04.5 /KDE Plasma 4.13.3:
Speed effect works not properly in the actual released versions. Will be completely re-written in the refactoring version. Have not really a work around. Do you hoover over the clip corner and use the fade with this?

What do you mean by “instruments panel“? The timeline toolbar? Please try with the actual Kdenlive AppImage version 18.12.0b as well. Run the Appimage from the terminal (press CTRL + ALT + T). Move to the AppImage folder and run the .AppImage: ./Kdenlive*.AppImage
