Description Daniel Robbins 2018-12-03 17:12:50 UTC
SUMMARY

Possible duplicate of 328616 which was reported in 2013. But I'm creating a new ticket to get more visibility with proper reproduction steps as this seems pretty trivial.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add event to Google Calendar from a non-korganizer account (any other account and not from korganizer)
2. Make sure the event invite includes the account tied to korganizer and kmail
3. Send out the event invite
4. Accept the invite by clicking 'accept' in kmail that should have been emailed from Google.

OBSERVED RESULT

Two events are now in Google Calendar

1) the original event with the original organizer

2) a new event with me as the organizer with the same attendees + the original organizer

additionally my status is not updated that I accepted the original event

EXPECTED RESULT

> My status updated on the original event.
> Not creating a new event with me as the organizer

Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04

Adding a bit more details:

SUMMARY
When accepting an invitation to an event (using Google calendar), the event gets duplicated in the source calendar.

If the event is moved and I accept the change, the event is duplicated again.

This results in both me and the other event guests seeing the event twice or more. The original event is organized by the organizer, and the rest are organized by me.

PREREQUISITES:
* 2 Google accounts (A and B)
* Account B registered in KMail and KOrganizer, to see it's emails and calendar

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an event in Google Calendar (web view) with account A and send an invite to account B
2. From KMail in account B accept the invite to the event (which will ask you to choose a calendar)
3. Choose the main account calendar

OBSERVED RESULT
Event shows up in the calendar.
A duplication of the event shows up in the calendar with account B as the organizer and account A is invited.
If the event is altered by account A, and the invite is accepted again, another duplication is created.

EXPECTED RESULT
A single event to appear in the calendar.
If the event is altered by account A, and the invite is accepted again, the event to be moved to the new time.

If anyone searches for the problem and finds the ticket: it is sill happening in the current version of KMail.
If you accept an event-invite a new event is created with me as an organizer.

WORKAROUND
I was able to use a webmail to accept the invite without any problems and add it to my calendar by hand.

Apparently there was a fix for this in the past. Maybe it helps. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316312

This was reported 4 years ago. I don't think it'll ever be looked into but you never know
