SUMMARY When showing icons on my desktop, the fonts for the icons are not displayed according to my anti-alias settings STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. turn off font aliasing in xorg (/etc/fonts/conf.d/10-antialias.conf) 2. turn off font aliasing in KDE (aliasing is set to 'enabled', but exluded range is 1 pt to 20 pt; hinting style is full) 2. create two files on desktop, one with short name (couple letters) and one with longer name spanning 2+ lines OBSERVED / EXPECTED RESULT The files/icons on my desktop that only span one line, are still blurred (aliased??) and are incorrect since I've turned off font aliasing. The filenames that span 2 lines are displayed correctly with no aliasing. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.14.4 KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0 Qt Version: 5.11.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is on the current/latest version Neon, as of this bug report date (Dec 1, 2018). I noticed it in older versions of KDE as well. Please see attachment image. The first icon is incorrect, it is blurry and should not be. The second icon is correct, it has aliased fonts turned off which matches my xorg/kde font aliasing settings.
Created attachment 116607 [details] screenshot of desktop with two icons on it, the first icon filename is not displayed correctly (it is blurred), the second icon is correct (font aliasing is disabled which matches my system settings)
