SUMMARY Unlike Gnome, the KDE login screen does not has any network status indicator. Here I don't mean by offering connection to all users or not, or even the ability of creating connection. I only meant by a status that shows the state of the network connection of the computer. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Turn on a computer that has Kubuntu 18.04 (probably any other version too) 2. Wait till the login screen appears. 3. Look for any message or indicator about the default or the active network status. OBSERVED RESULT There is no any indicator about the network status. EXPECTED RESULT To see an indicator that describes the network status, such as which Wifi network is connected and what's the connection strength? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: MacOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Kernel version: 4.15.0.39-generic
why?
(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #1) > why? For example, personal reason, I'm a web developer, and I run my own web server on my machine, commonly, I just need to turn on my computer without login to run the web server, so I need any way at the login screen telling me the status of the network connection.
