Description benjamin 2018-11-27 23:01:42 UTC
SUMMARY
My phone and desktop do not reliably stay connected. I have multiple computers on my network running manjaro (kde) kde connect seems to run perfectly well on my phone, and the connection to most of my computers is reliable.

One of my computers (the most frequently used one) does not reliably stay connected to my phone through KDE connect. It will seem to be working well (commands, multimedia control, mouse control, etc).

Then sometimes it will disconnect, and not be able to reconnect conveniently. Sometimes I can make my devices reconnect by pressing refresh on the kde connect system settings module, but sometimes it will just show my mobile device (Oneplus 3 running LineageOS) for a split second and then show no devices.

If I'm looking at the kde app on my phone for my computer while disconnected, and I hit refresh, it will flash the possible controls (Send Files, Presentation Remote, Multimedia Control, etc) for a split second and then show that it is not connected again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use kde connect
2. Wait until disconnect
3. Open up kde connect system settings module
4. Press refresh

OBSERVED RESULT
Does not reliably connect or stay connected.

EXPECTED RESULT
Staying connected to the computer reliably.

So, I'm not terribly familiar with the system here, not sure if I should mark this as resolved, but I seem to have fixed it by

1. Uninstalling KDEconnect *again*
2. Deleting the config folder for KDEconnect *again*
3. Rebooting
4. Installing KDEconnect *again*

It seems to work nicely again.
