As you can see

the line after one second of drawing lags for a fracion ,sometimes 2 times, and results in a very choppy feeling.

This happens to almost any stroke and really interrupts the flow of drawing

This needs to be solved as as soon as possible as to me its quite an important feature

I think this lag has been there for a long while but i've been ignoring and working around it

Hm, so it's not a regression? Does it matter whether instant preview is enabled or disabled? Or whether autosave is enabled or disabled?
Comment 2 Bollebib 2018-11-26 14:39:33 UTC
instant preview seems to do nothing

after some testing

I think it happens wgen a large file is in krita's memory

When i have a small file there is no issue
When i have a large file there is lag

when i paint in a small file with a large file in the background ,there is lag also

so maybe there is a bottle neck created somehow.
Most things go fast tho even with a big file. But there is lag with stablizer

Edit:tested some more

Apparantly this happens with ALL smooth options and brushes

so its actually NOT a stablizer issue but a performance issue

I just noticed it more with stablizer due to the nature of the stroke.

I have been able to confirm with a test document. I think we're hitting the limit of physics here, though...
Comment 4 Tiar 2020-12-14 00:10:01 UTC
This report is very vague:
- videos are already gone/unavailable
- the latest consensus is is that there is a lag with big files no matter if the stabilizer is there or not, it's just related to how much memory Krita uses (mention of a big file in the background), and that it might be just performance...

@Bollebib does bug 421376 sound similar?
