SUMMARY I used a pen drive formated with fat32 file system and already labeled. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. connect a removable device already labled to usb port and open Dolphin 2. use KDE partition manager or Gnome Disks to change the label of your device 3. OBSERVED RESULT Device label was not updated in places panel after the modification. Restart Dolphin: now the places panel shows the new label. EXPECTED RESULT Device label should be updated immediately after modification while Dolphin is running. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3 Qt Version: 5.12.0 beta4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Stefan, any idea whether this is in Dolphin or Solid?
NTFS/EXT4 partitions of internal devices (HDs) are also affected. The label of such partitions is not updated in places panel if Dolphin was running while the lables were modified with kde partition manager. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 Qt Version: 5.12.1

Pretty sure this is solid, however, I don't think Solid has any change signals for existing devices.
Currently the edited device label is updated when Dolphin is focused. Restarting Dolphin is no longer necessary. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 Graphics Platform: Wayland
