Description M.Hilpert 2018-11-12 08:41:37 UTC
SUMMARY
Pen usage: able to control Krita with pen, but unable to draw on new sheet

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Krita on debian (tried both official Krita 3.1.1 in debian repository and separate krita 4.1.1 as appimage) on a netbook with pen sensitivity screen (Acer spin 11 with wacom digitizer/pen)
2. start krita and control krita with pen => works
3. open new paint document, select color and try to draw with the pen => does not work!

OBSERVED RESULT
The pen is detected by krita to control the krita application - but drawing on a sheet doesn't work with the pen. With krita 4.1.1, the new "pen tester" works!!! So I _can_ draw with the pen but only in the pen tester and not in the normal krita sheet.

EXPECTED RESULT
Pen should work on a drawing sheet just like it works in the settings pen tester tool.

I'm sorry, but this must be a setup problem and not a bug in Krita. There's nothing we can do here, but please note that both versions of Krita you've tried are outdated.

A "setup problem"? Hello? Did you read my description? I can draw with the pen in the "tablet tester" setting! So it's a problem with Krita and not with the environment. As I read that "tablet tester" is some component introduced into krita from another project, you should check the code of Krita why it doesn't work and why tablet tester works.

I haven'T read any change log info since 4.1.1 that did anything for tablet/pen support. (https://krita.org/en/krita-4-1-release-notes/)
