Description Brian Wright 2018-11-11 19:40:16 UTC
SUMMARY
Ejecting an optical media device from either the DVD-RW or BluRay-RW via the device notifier will open and then immediately close the DVD-RW or BluRay-RW drawer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place optical media in either the Blu-Ray, DVD or both
2. Go to device notifier and click on the eject button for the media
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
DVD or Blu-Ray drawer will open and then immediately close before the optical media can be removed.

EXPECTED RESULT
The drawer should open and stay open on either device

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
MacOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: 18.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.51.0
Qt Version: 5.11.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There are two drives on my system - /dev/sr0 is a Blu-Ray RW and /dev/sr1 is a DVD-RW.

The drawers will open and stay open when running either the "eject" command from the terminal or when pressing the eject button on the drive.

The drawers will open and stay open when using the remove device feature in Windows 10 so this can't be a hardware issue.
