SUMMARY Attempting to use my laptop's touchscreen to draw causes krita to freeze. My laptop is a hp 15-f387wm and I am running linux mint 18.3 xfce with kernel 4.15.0-38 and the open source drivers STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. create a new document 2. select a brush and attempt to draw by dragging finger across the screen 3. OBSERVED RESULT Krita freezes and needs to be restarted EXPECTED RESULT Either just does nothing or paints SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS mint xfce 18.3 and I am using whatever version of qt comes with that ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Also. I do have enable touch painting checked on in the settings and this also happens in krita 4.10
Does this also happen if you use another window manager than xfce's? We've had previous reports of xfce's window manager doing weird things.
Hey, D.D.Rouge, could you see if you can give an answer to boud's question? We need it, otherwise we will not be able to figure out what is causing this.
I do not know how to change window managers
You should be able to use mint's software center to install e.g. kwin, or fvwm. Those options should then appear in the login screen.
Mint xfce comes with compiz installed in addition to xfce's window manager and I do not see any option to switch to window managers
I decided to try intalling awesome and sure enough it showed up in the login screen. I tried using the touch screen to paint again and the freeze does happen in awesome. (proceeds to uninstall and never reinstall awesome again)
Hm, that makes it sound like it's not the window manager, but some combination of hardware, drivers and krita. Which makes it even harder, because I don't have access to the hardware :-(
I'm sorry, but I don't think there's anything we can with this report. I cannot reproduce this on my Yoga 920 :-(
