SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE I run: kfontview /path/to/NotoSansSymbols2-Regular.ttf and want to check if a certain character is included in the font. Therefore I click on the "Change Text" toolbar action, get a dialog to enter some new text to display, but it never shows the text I entered. OBSERVED RESULT Always std. text is shown EXPECTED RESULT My entered text is shown SOFTWARE VERSIONS (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.45.0 Qt Version: 5.9.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION openSuse Leap 15.0
Reproduced issue with non-BMP characters, e.g. 👍, which is shown as two ? boxes, probably because it does not handle UTF-16 surrogate pairs. But with BMP characters, the issue cannot be reproduced; the entered text is shown in multiple font sizes below the separator line.
