SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
I run:
kfontview /path/to/NotoSansSymbols2-Regular.ttf
and want to check if a certain character is included in the font.
Therefore I click on the "Change Text" toolbar action, get a dialog to enter some new text to display, but it never shows the text I entered.

OBSERVED RESULT
Always std. text is shown

EXPECTED RESULT
My entered text is shown

Reproduced issue with non-BMP characters, e.g. 👍, which is shown as two ? boxes, probably because it does not handle UTF-16 surrogate pairs.

But with BMP characters, the issue cannot be reproduced; the entered text is shown in multiple font sizes below the separator line.
