Description Luca Carlon 2018-11-04 14:35:49 UTC
SUMMARY
When splitting views, the entire view is split according to the last choice. If I split vertically, and then split horizontally, I get three horizontal sections.
Would you be against a behavior like the one implemented by many other tools like yakuake, tmux, screen, terminator etc... where each section is split independently?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Split vertically.
2. Split horizontally.

OBSERVED RESULT
I get three horizontal sections.

EXPECTED RESULT
I'd personally consider it more natural to have two vertical sections. The selected section should also be split horizontally. Something similar to what tmux does: https://lightrains.com/blogs/tmux-tips. Even yakuake seems to behave like this.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.50.0
Qt Version: 5.11.1
