crash report

SUMMARY
I get "kdeinit5 closed unexpectedly" error when clicking on preview button in certain folders (not all). Not all folders generate this error. I could not pinpoint as to what in the folders is causing this. But I am assuming that it has something to do with the generation of thumbnails. I am attaching the crash report this.

Hi

I have the same problem since the upgrade to frameworks 5.51 under Kubuntu 18.10.
The crash also happens when trying to browse (the non functional - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392447) smb://
When I install libkf5kiocore 5.50 everything is back to normal.
One file which cause this bug for me is a .webm file which only contains an audio, but no video track. Another one is a .wma file.
The crash only occurs when thumbnail previews are enabled, or when i hover the mouse over the file with Dolphins "Show tooltips" enabled.
KDE neon gitunstable did not show this behavior, also the stable useredition of neon from 01.11. also no longrr exhibits the problem - a previous build did.

Hi Kai

I deinstalled the kdegraphics-thumbnailers package, restartet KDE and still got these crahes, so I attached the backtraces. The crash for the .wma file also seems to come from ffmpegthumbnailer (Can attach them if you need it).
Comment 10 Christoph Feck 2018-11-03 20:02:55 UTC
Please report the backtraces from comment #5 and comment #6 as separate bugs. The crash from comment #0 is fixed in 18.08.3 to be released in the coming days.
