Already reported as bug 400387 (including screenshots).

Nate's comment:
"The problem is that these widgets are using their widget icons ("org.kde.plasma.[widgetname]") instead of a more appropriate icon, as other widgets do for the icon displayed in the system tray settings view. Please file two new bugs, one for each widget, and request that a better icon be used for the system tray settings representation."

Set appropriate icon for plasmoid

Widget explorer automatically uses the "preview" icon based on the plasmoid's name,
so use an appropriate icon here that is shown in other parts of the UI, such as System Tray settings.
