Created attachment 116018 [details] test case KDirWatch::stopScan affects other KDirWatch instances, see attached test case. The problem seems to be caused by KDirWatch::stopScan() setting the variable _isStopped to false inside the KDirWatchPrivate object that is shared (per thread) among all the KDirWatch instances. If one KDirWatch has set _isStopped to false, a second instance that wants to add a file will copy the _isStopped setting (= false) from within the KDirWatchPrivate::Client constructor. Possible fix: the _isStopped setting should be managed *per* KDirWatch instance and not inside the global KDirWatchPrivate object STEPS TO REPRODUCE compile & run attached test case
