Hi,

Can you test if the problem occurs in KDE only? I mean, may it happen that this is a general OS or hardware problem?

If it is possible, please temporarily install some other lightweight DE on the other toolkit (e.g. LXDE) to test and choose it when booting your system.

It would be also helpful if you can report the same bug on bugs.ubuntu.com . It is possible that you have more useful answers from the distribution authors.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is not a hardware issue : on the same computer (dual boot), the touchpad does work with Windows 10 and Trisquel 8 (based on Ubuntu 16.04).

The trouble sometimes appeared when a terminal window (Konsole) is open, after doing a double click in the title to maximize the window. But I can not reproduce it every time :( .

This might be a kernel issue (currently version 4.15.0-38-generic) but I have no idea how to report it...

Hello! This bug report concerns the Synaptics version of the Touchpad page, which is no longer supported in Plasma 6. Can you please see if the issue still happens when using Libinput? If so, please change the status back to "REPORTED." If not, go ahead and change it to "RESOLVED FIXED", or let the bot do it automatically after a month. Thanks!
