$ 'akonadictl start' doesn't work on Debian Testing

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run 'akonadictl start' as $
2. Open KMail or any other app that uses Akonadi. "Error: Akonadi personal information manager service is not operational."
3. So I just tried to start Akonadi PIM using the command in step 1.

OBSERVED RESULT

$ akonadictl start

Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: database server stopped unexpectedly
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Database process exited unexpectedly during initial connection!
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: executable: "/usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: arguments: ("--defaults-file=/home/jd/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf", "--datadir=/home/jd/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/", "--socket=/tmp/akonadi-jd.J1PcjC/mysql.socket", "--pid-file=/tmp/akonadi-jd.J1PcjC/mysql.pid")
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: stdout: ""
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: stderr: "2018-10-26 13:28:42 140220545756288 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld (mysqld 10.1.35-MariaDB-1) starting as process 7487 ...\n"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: exit code: 1
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: process error: "Unknown error"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Failed to remove runtime connection config file
org.kde.pim.akonadicontrol: Application 'akonadiserver' exited normally...

EXPECTED RESULT

I just wanted to start Akonadi because the apps such as KMail refuses to start saying Akonadi PIM isn't operational...

I'd be glad if you could remove this bug report as I've downgraded to Debian Stable and everything works fine with latest KDE 5.26. Thanks!
