Steps to disable data transfer tracking in task manager and notifications applet:
Right click on notifications applet in the system tray -> Notifications Settings -> uncheck "Track file transfers and other jobs", click "ok" button.
Right click the task manager in the plasma panel, select "configure task manager...", uncheck "Show progress and status information in task buttons", click "ok" button and restart plasma session.

Steps to reproduce:
open dolphin
copy some file to another folder
repeat previous step

OBSERVED RESULT
"Copying" window appears and remains visible until I click some button in "File already exists" dialog. See the screenshot.

EXPECTED RESULT
"Copying" window only should appear after dolphin start the file operation.

It appears all the settings have been moved since this report was made.

Patrick can you please re-test and confirm this is still an issue on recent Plasma + Dolphin?
Comment 2 Patrick Silva 2020-10-26 10:23:13 UTC
It's still an issue on neon unstable.

1. right-click on Notifications applet in the system tray
2. choose "Configure Notifications..."
3. uncheck both "Show in task manager" and "Show in notifications" options
4. click on "Apply" button
5. open dolphin
6. copy some file to another folder
7. copy the same file to the same folder

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
