Bit of a good timing duh! I happened to just do an update right before I looked at this entry! I'm on Neon Dev Stable 5.14.0 which showed all (20+) items all show the update bar filling up left to right as expected. Frameworks 5.51.1, Qt 5.11.1. And here's apt list --installed |grep discover:

discover/bionic,now 2.1.2-8 amd64 [installed]
discover-data/bionic,bionic,now 2.2013.01.11 all [installed,automatic]
libdiscover2/bionic,now 2.1.2-8 amd64 [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover/bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 amd64 [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover-common/bionic,bionic,bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 all [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover-flatpak-backend/bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 amd64 [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover-private/bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 amd64 [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover-snap-backend/bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 amd64 [installed,automatic]
plasma-discover-updater/bionic,now 5.14.0+p18.04+git20181013.0134-0 amd64 [installed,automatic]

Maybe this will help?

It doesn't really make a big difference. The problem is mostly on the backend in this case and it's normal that it behaves differently on ubuntu and archlinux.
